Have you recently started or planning to start a business, or have a business and are looking for some additional support?
The Six Steps to Business Success program is designed to provide you with the tools to
build the foundations of a successful business.
The program will be delivered each Thursday night over a 6 week period by an experienced
external facilitator at the Latrobe City Council Headquarters, 141 Commercial Road, Morwell.
With a maximum of 15 participants the program provides an opportunity to develop
your network and give your business the best opportunity starting out.

1) STARTING YOUR BUSINESS

• Conduct market-analysis
• Determine the best business structure
• Step-by-step guide to registering a business

2) MARKETING YOUR BUSINESS
13 FEBRUARY 2020 (5.30 – 7.30PM)
• Understand the customer-focused mindset
• Develop a marketing action plan
• Develop your Unique Selling Proposition
• Explore how to measure the success of marketing activities

3) DEVELOPING A SOCIAL MEDIA STRATEGY
20 FEBRUARY 2020 (5.30 – 7.30PM)
• Auditing your existing channels
• Setting goals and objectives that can be measured
• Competitor analysis and learning from others
• How to develop a content strategy and plan
• Understanding your existing and target audiences
• Time management and distribution of resources

4) TAKING YOUR BUSINESS ONLINE
27 FEBRUARY 2020 (5.30 – 7.30PM)
• Explore online advertising, search engines, websites and social media
• Develop an effective online strategy for your business
• Learn how your online accounts can best benefit your business

5) FINANCE FUNDAMENTALS
5 MARCH 2020 (5.30 – 7.30PM)
• Understand the importance of cash flow
• Learn the difference between profit and cash
• Improve customer collections
• Manage stock
• Manage suppliers

6) BUSINESS P LANNING ESSENTIALS
12 MARCH 2020 (5.30 – 7.30PM)
• Understand the benefits of building a business plan
• Develop a one-page plan for your business
• Understand the business framework to fast track success
