The Latrobe Valley GovHub has been a hive of activity in recent months and the building is on track to meet completion later this year.

Solar Victoria will be moving into the new building alongside teams from Parks Victoria

Solar Victoria is responsible for delivering the Victorian Government’s Solar Homes Program, one of the most ambitious and transformative renewable energy programs in Australia. Solar Homes is a 10-year, $1.3 billion program which works with industry to transform and grow Victoria’s energy sector, drive down greenhouse gas emissions, and put power back into Victorians’ hands.

There are already 25 staff from Solar Victoria located in Morwell as part of the Contact Centre and they will be joined next year by colleagues from other parts of the organisation and will also be advertising new roles on the Victorian State Government website.

Meet a local team involved – Coffey Bricklaying

Of all contractors working on site, over 75% are local. Coffey Bricklaying is one of the many local contractors involved in building the GovHub. Coffey Bricklaying are working on the brick columns and facades in the build with five of their team of nine currently working on the project.

Based in Traralgon, the company provides commercial, domestic and repair bricklaying work including large projects like the GovHub, to aged care buildings, hotels, schools and smaller jobs such as retaining walls.
